Rihanna Comes Clean About The Chris Brown Song 'Cold Case Love' feat. Justin Timberlake

Listen: Rihanna - Cold Case Love ft. Justin Timberlake

Rihanna has explained the song she wrote about her former lover Chris Brown, insisting the lyrics detail everything she "didn't say for the past eight months." The Umbrella beauty split from the singer last year shortly after a vicious fight with Brown that left her battered and bruised. He was later convicted of attacking her.

Rihanna eventually told her side of the story in a string of TV interviews several months after the incident, and has revealed working on her new album, Rated R, allowed her to "vent" about the break-up.

Now she admits one of the songs - Cold Case Love, a collaboration with Justin Timberlake - is about the bust-up with Brown.

She tells CNN, "It's a song that everybody wanted to hear, everything that I didn't say for the past eight months, exactly how I felt about that relationship and how I feel about it now - that song says it all."

50 Cent Sued for Leaking out Rick Ross Baby Mother Sex Tape over the internet

The mother of Rick Ross’ daughter is suing 50 Cent for disseminating her private sex tape over the internet last year. Lastonia Leviston processed her complaint yesterday (February 24) in Manhattan, alleging that 50 Cent used the tape without her permission, and has caused her to suffer “emotional distress.” Last March, 50 Cent posted the video on his affiliate site www.boobootv.com as a form of psychological warfare with then rival Rick Ross.

The Queens mogul edited the 13-minute sex tape to include himself under his short-lived Pimpin’ Curly persona. As Curly, he hurled insults at Ross and Leviston, identified in the clip as “Brooke.”

“Double R? Does that stand for Rick Ross in the middle of her motherfuckin’ chest man?! Oh this is cold blooded man. I told n***as I was the beast from the east man. They thought I was bullshitting. I ain’t bullshitting no more man. 1 minute and 30 seconds n***a. You see the tape. It only been on for 1 minute and 30 seconds,” Curly ridiculed. I want you to watch this on your tour bus Ricky. I want you to watch this on your motherfucking tour bus Ricky. Now how the f**k you gonna say you a boss and you run a motherfucking crew and can’t even control your bitches. Is this n***a licking on the Rick Ross tattoo? The n***a licking on the Ricky tattoo. Oooh shit. Oooh man. Somebody need to make an announcement!”

The male participant’s face in the clip is blurred out and has never been identified. According to Leviston’s lawsuit, the tape was made in 2008. Ross released his third studio album Deeper Than Rap in the midst of the feud in April 2009. To date, it has sold over 400,000 copies. 50 Cent’s 4th LP, Before I Self-Destruct, was released last November and is certified gold.

At press time, 50 Cent could not be reached for comment.

Black EP Knocks Lil Wayne of the Top Spot

The Black Eyed Peas have put an “E-N-D.” to Lil Wayne’s position as the number one rap act on The Billboard 200.

Climbing five seats from last week, the Peas managed to grab the No. 3 spot on the charts, with 65,500 units of their E.N.D. album flying off the shelves this sales cycle. After an impressive 37-weeks, the group’s Grammy-nominated disc has close to 2,131,300 copies sold, according to the Nielsen SoundScan.

Wayne’s experimental rock album, Rebirth, fell one spot to No. 5 this go-round. The soon to be incarcerated rapper racked up 58,400 in sales, in his third week on the charts, making his total 323,800.

All the way down at No. 21 is Weezy’s collective Young Money. Fans picked up 19,700 copies of the crew’s debut LP, We Are Young Money, making YM’s overall stats stand at 330,700.

Jumping ten spots to No. 32 is the other Mr. Carter, Jay-Z. Hov’s Blueprint 3 album was scanned 16,000 times this week, bringing his 24-week tally to 1,631,500.

Making his way back into the top 40 this week is Gucci Mane at No. 38. The Atlanta trap star sold 14,700 copies of The State Vs. Radric Davis over the last seven-days. Overall, the So Icey rapper has 278,800 in sales after 11-weeks on the charts.

Further down the charts Freeway and producer Jake One’s collaborative album The Stimulus Package, debuted at No. 63. The disc, released through Rhymesaysers Records, sold 9,000 units in its first week. —Elan Mancini

This is Rox

Listen: Rox – My Baby Left Me
Roxanne Tataei brings conviction to your sound-system; A powerful voice on a stage with a tale or two to tell. Half Jamaican and half Iranian, at the tender old age of 21, her debut album entitled “Memoirs” is the fortuitous result of hard graft and a singular minded headspace.

Miss Tataei’s youth wasn’t misspent; Saturdays were for Church, for singing, from 9am to 5pm, every week from the age of five to ten. It was here that her voice, love of performance and work ethic took shape. It was at various jovial Jamaican family gatherings that she sang above and beyond her stature, five part harmonies over fried fish and run-dung stew with a solo performance for dessert. These attributes were eventually accentuated in school plays and a stint with the National Youth Musical Theatre ensured most school holidays were spent on tour. In Rox’s own words ‘It wasn’t long before all that Jazz-Hands stuff got on my nerves’; Chicago (the musical) got swapped for Portishead (Dummy) and Lauryn Hill (the Miseducation).

Joni Mitchell completes this love of the heavy hitting diminutives and her inspiration combined with an appetite to perform complex arrangements enabled Rox to form an acoustic jazz group in the spring of 2007. The shows and songs showcased both her musical ability and stagecraft and their popularity soon began to attract the attention of the A&R fraternity. This in turn led to offers from a number of labels but Rox was supremely attracted to a common approach to artistic freedoms and signed to Rough Trade. The process of recording the album has involved all of her sonic influences and sessions on both sides of the musical pond. With New Jersey’s Commissioner Gordon (famed for his work with Lauryn Hill, Damian Marley and KRS One) at the desk, Rox held her own jamming with a team of accomplished veterans ‘Playing with guys who had recorded with the Skatalites and Bob Marley was a life changing experience’.

After having laid the foundations of the album in America, Rox returned home and began working with her friend Al Shux: the talented kid from London who co-wrote and produced Jay-Z’s ode to NYC ‘Empire State of Mind’. Shux’s capability as a player and a producer fitted had and glove with Rox’s own talents and tastes collided in the most fortunate of fashions. Sometimes you’ve got to go away to come home. “To work with someone with the pedigree of [Commissioner] Gordon was obviously a huge privilege but Shux was able to bring an entirely different approach to the recording process. He has amazing sensibility and helped me to truly bring life to my songs.”

Stream:> Rox: "Rocksteady"

And so to the finished album, it’s a game of three halves. It’s about saying goodbye to someone, saying hello to heartache and the putting of her big toe back into loves’ trepidation filled waters. Her lyrics undress her emotions, blatantly, constantly. Throughout the album you get the sense that this is to redress her, not in armour, but in a tailor made power suit. This catharsis isn’t delivered with malice nor weak-willed ‘woe is me’ undertones. It’s about process, working through something difficult, owning hurt and turning it into something to shake your tush to on a Saturday night; ‘My Baby’ is a perfect slice of up yours. The delicate beats driven stirrings of ‘Sad Eyes’ showcases heart, ‘Do as I Say’ is classic southern soul and ‘Rocksteady’ is triumphant feel-good reggae.

A truly classic album remains perpetually timeless and can only be built upon rock steady convictions that spring from an unwavering ability; Rox has this in spades and by the bucket load. With a sold out residency and a sensational performance on Jools Holland already under her belt and heart full of songs to belt in your direction, 2010 and “Memoirs” look interlinked from the get-go.

The second single from Nitin's forthcoming album, "London Undersound". "Distant Dreams" features vocals by Roxanne Tataei. The video was directed by Paul Morricone from Poison Pen Films.
